First Check your Internet Speed

There are many utilities available on the internet to measure internet speed. But my favorite one is speedtest.net Simply go to the website, after everything loads, a green button “ BEGIN TEST” will appear on the screen as shown in the below screenshot. Just click on it and it will show both your downloading and uploading speed instantly.

1 Cookies, Cache, Browser History
Each web browser tends to fill up with temporary data to maintain a surfing session. Make it a routine to clean out such data from your concerned web browsers. You can find out the different ways of doing so in each web browsers.

• Press Windows key and type Internet Options in the Windows Start Search
• Open the result to view Internet Options window
• On General tab, point to the Browsing history section and click Settings button
• On Temporary Internet Files tab of Website Data Settings window, type 0 as Disk space to use
• Now go to the History tab, and specify a minimum number of days to keep pages in history
• In the same window on Caches and databases tab, uncheck Allow website caches and databases
• You can also reduce the cache file size in MBs to notify your self

2 Increase Internet Speed by Disabling Windows Reserve
Click on the Start Menu then type gpedit.msc ,click on it, This will open the group policy editor.
or press windows+R then type gpedit.msc , click on it.
Then go to:

• Local Computer Policy
• Computer Configuration
• Administrative Templates
• Network
• QOS Packet Scheduler
• Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth.
By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default.”

“If you enable this setting, you can use the “Bandwidth limit” box to adjust the amount of bandwidth the system can reserve.”

“If you disable this setting or do not configure it, the system uses the default value of 20 percent of the connection.”

So this trick ENABLE the reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO(0).

3 Reconnect your Internet Connection
when your internet speed goes slow. Disable your internet connectivity for a while and again enable it. Instead of removing your cable or disconnecting your router, you can simply use NCPA.CPL command from your windows PC. Open RUN box by pressing WINDOWS key + R, then type ncpa.cpl in it and hit enter. It will show your internet connectivity there, just right click on it and select DISABLE. To connect again right click on it and select ENABLE. This might help you in most cases.

4Turn Off live Titles ( If you are using Windows 8 or 8.1)
Few of the default tiles in windows 8 uses internet connectivity to show updates while you use metro. That might suck your bandwidth connection letting you to browse on slow internet. So Always it’s preferable to turn those “live Tiles” OFF. To turn them OFF just open your METRO by pressing windows key, Right click on TILE and select TURN LIVE TILE OFF.

5 Password protect your Wi-Fi
If your Wi-Fi network is not password protected then, anyone around you in your network can easily get access to your internet connection, which will leads to sharing of internet speed, which will result you in slow internet connectivity. 6 Disable other Connections on your Network
You can do this by using NCPA.CPL command on your PC. Just Open RUN box to type ncpa.cpl and hit enter. It will display all of your connections disable all the other except the one you are using now. This might help you to increase the speed of your internet in sha Allah.
